Ian Botham is the only player to score a hundred and take eight wickets in an innings in the same Test, with 108 and 8-34 for England v. Pakistan at Lord's on 15-19 Jun 1978. He scored a hundred (114) and took more than ten wickets (6-58 and 7-4Cool in a Test, for England v. India in the Golden Jubilee Test at Bombay on 15-19 Feb 1980. This feat was emulated by Imran Khan Niazi (b. 25 Nov 1952) with 117, 6-98 and 5-82 for Pakistan v. India at Faisalabad on 3-8 Jan 1983. Ian Botham is the only player to score a century and take eight wickets in a single Test innings, with 108 and 8-34 for England v. Pakistan at Lord's, London, UK, on June 15–19, 1978. Botham was captain of England for a spell. He was a brilliant player – some say the greatest the world has seen – but his career was marked by controversy.
