Coach Football/Sports! Sri Lanka: Coach football (or cricket, rugby, volleyball, basketball, rounders - whatever you fancy really!) to school kids, orphans and local teenagers in Sri Lanka. This voluntary work enables the kids from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn spoken English informally - a great prerequisite for their futures.
Curriculum Highlights: You get to experience a brand new culture from the inside! Living and working in a community enables you to absorb a culture in a way a tourist never could. You become a part of the village, it becomes a home to you! Projects are flexible in terms of dates and lengths. Full support staff in country.
Setting Description: Ja-Ela is situated on the outskirts of Colombo, between the Capital city and the popular beach resort of Negombo. It is a real typical Sri Lankan village and with Colombo next door you have easy access to the diverse destinations to visit in Sri Lanka on your weekends off! Beaches, temples, wildlife
Program Value: The projects are a very reasonable cost. Money is also donated directly into the communities we work with. Costs cover all your food, accommodation, travel in country and full support staff and back up throughout your placement. It is possible to fundraise. Excellent safety and support throughout.

Conservation Work in Sri Lanka: Work with Elephants at Pinawala Elephant Orphanage, where you clean and observe and wash some of the 80 elephants living and breeding here. Or work at Colombo Zoo making a real difference, from the inside - building hammocks for monkeys or inventing games for the big cats. Enrich an animals life.
